Do I need to be present at pickup?

You do not always need to be present during pickup. LightSpeedBid offers flexible solutions for sellers who may be at work, traveling, busy, or unable to meet the tow driver in person. While being present is preferred because it allows for simple verification, quick paperwork signing, and immediate payment, LightSpeedBid also supports no-contact pickup, third-party handoff, or pre-signed title arrangements depending on your state’s regulations.

If you choose to be present, the process is simple. You meet the driver, verify the vehicle, sign the necessary paperwork, receive payment, and watch the tow operator load the car. The entire visit typically takes ten to fifteen minutes.

If you cannot be present, LightSpeedBid accommodates alternative arrangements such as:

  • Leaving the keys in a secure location
  • Leaving the vehicle accessible in a driveway, parking lot, or mechanic shop
  • Giving permission for pickup through a property manager, relative, or neighbor
  • Signing the title beforehand and leaving it in a designated location
  • Providing gate codes, access instructions, or remote entry instructions

Some states require the seller to sign the title in the presence of the tow driver. In those cases, LightSpeedBid helps coordinate a quick meeting or alternative legal arrangement. In states that allow pre-signed paperwork, customers can leave the title inside the vehicle or hand it to a trusted representative.

If the vehicle has no keys, no battery, locked steering, or non-rolling wheels, being present is still not necessary. Tow operators are trained to retrieve vehicles in any condition using flatbeds and winching methods.

LightSpeedBid is built to accommodate busy schedules, remote property owners, landlords, estate managers, and sellers handling vehicles located in different cities or states.

Presence is optional. Convenience is mandatory. LightSpeedBid ensures you can sell your car even when you are not physically there.
